Google TV launched a year ago, letting users search and access the Web through their TV but didn't sell well, with high prices and a complicated interface cited as reasons.
In a blog post previewing what is coming at CES, Mickey Kim of Google TV Partnerships said an update in October has helped shift momentum for the product: "Since launching the update, we?ve seen our activation rates more than double. New features and new apps are coming to the living room via Google TV almost every day."
Google Chairman Eric Schmidt last month predicted that most TVs will come with Google TV by the middle of this year.
While it ramps up its new attempt to invade living rooms around the country, many are waiting to see whether Apple Inc.?
(NASDAQ:AAPL) will roll out this year, as well.
