Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been forced to put the freeze on his ice cream budget.
After a scoop by the Calcalist newspaper revealed he had spent ?1,750 a year on pistachio and vanilla-flavoured treats, he cancelled his order.
It comes as the 63-year-old, commonly known as Bibi, forms a coalition government.
Critics say his splurge on desserts is ?excessive and unacceptable?.
But his office said the bill was ?falsely? high as a result of hosting high-ranking officials.
Following the publication, Israelis flocked to the Metudela ice cream shop near the prime minister?s residence to check out his alleged favourite flavours.
Benny Ashkenazi, who bought a pistachio cone on Friday, said: ?I didn?t vote for Bibi but he has good taste in ice cream; I came for Bibi?s pistachio.?
Ziva Shvili added: ?I thought Bibi?s ice cream would be made in a fancy institute. I see the place here is humble.?
