The F?rsvarsmakten, or the Swedish Armed Forces, apologized for flying their planes low over a mink farm in Svenljunga prompting the death of some 500 minks last summer. It was when the military planes flew past the farm at low altitudes that adult minks resorted to killing their young by biting them due to panic. About 500 to 600 mink pups were not eaten but were discovered with fatal bite marks.
After the ghastly finding, the farmer contacted the Armed Forces to demand compensation for his loss. The Swedish Armed Forces agreed to pay the damages and apologized for the incident.
Thelocal.se reported that farmers have sent invoices demanding compensation for their losses and an exact price is to be expected soon. Lena Ahlstr?m, military lawyer described the incident as ?unfortunate?
