Last week, the latest dev diary released from CD Projekt claimed that the Xbox 360 release of The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition was going to have ?the most complex story ever told on Xbox 360.?

Well, being overly complex might not be a good thing, but the dev studio hopes it will win Xbox gamers over. CD Projekt had big dreams of what they wanted to accomplish, and the PC-release of their title was a critical success. Whether that will translate over into the world of consoles remains to be seen.

Quest designer ?ukasz Szczepankowski, who?s quite the avid gamer, says he?d rather be playing games on a console than a PC. He was sorely disappointed that console games didn?t give him the freedoms of choice that he really wanted. He was looking for world-changers, from the smallest to the biggest decisions. ?This is a first for console games,? said Szczepankowski about the wide-reaching influences of player choices during the game.

?The Xbox 360 has never seen a game that would match The Witcher 2 in terms of nonlinearity and complexity of its story,? said writer Jan Bartkowicz.

Whether console players will go for the complex story lines remains to be seen. However, CD Projekt has already proven that The Witcher 2 was a winner. Now it?s just a matter of appealing to a slightly different audience.

The Witcher 2 for the Xbox 360 launches in April of this year.
